In very desperate need of o/s handbrake lever that operates the self adjuster on the wheel cylinder. It is missing on my car. Wondered why the rear brakes were locked on one side! Anybody got a good used one for sale?

I’ve got a spare but not sure which side it is.

It looks like the left one unfortunately when I compared it with the parts manual. Thankyou very much for looking.

that part number is for 1850s up to commission number WF 11784.

The later number is for the right hand side 521008 and for the left 521007.



New remanufactured ones are available, I have seen them advertised on ebay.
They also fit the GT6, so I suggest trying Fitchetts in Telford......

Thankyou for letting me know. Have got a pair coming from Canley Classics, I shall let you know what they are like.

I have got a pair of handbrake levers from Canley Classics. They are second hand in perfect condition. Have cleaned and repainted them, just waiting for decent weather to fit them. Got some new shoes as it looks like there has been a bodge job in the past. Some chunks missing from the linings and the return springs incorrectly fitted.

Don't forget to refit the H shim, if its missed out it causing lots of adjustment problems

Thanks for the reminder. I have got new ones. The old shims had been welded, can't think why, they are cheap enough.

My rear brakes are now OK. Looked in the previous owner's invoices and found that he had bought wheel cylinders for 7 pounds each - the well known spurious make. The handbrake levers were not sitting in the recesses correctly which is why the self adjusters were not working. So I have fitted new cylinders, new shoes, 2nd hand levers, put the springs in the correct holes on the shoes, checked and adjusted the handbrake cables. Handbrake lever comes up 5 clicks and it works!
