I have a complete Weathershields sunroof originally purchased for my Sprint, but I just can't cut the roof!

Needs restoration, but it is complete, just very grubby!! There's a load of crud rattling about on the inside, but it is dry and appears to be in good order with no rust, etc, that these usually have.

I paid £85 so I'd like that back..

20 something years ago, I used to fit these for a living, doing it properly is NOT a job for the faint hearted! First, make sure the roof stiffeners are present with the kit (most people when removing second hand roofs leave them in the donor car, rendering the kit useless except to replace a damaged one already fitted) I know lots more and am prepared to give advice if required but if the stiffeners are not present theres no point!

The advert states "complete", so yes, the stiffeners are indeed included! It has everything you need to fit it to a car.

Thinking about it Howard, I might have it myself if it is indeed complete as my Sprint has one of those Godawful glass porthole jobs fitted currently! Are you going to TDCIR?

Morning all,
I’ve just purchased a decent fabric sunroof believed to be Britax. It doesn’t include the roof strengtheners mentioned above.
This one looks pretty substantial. Do you think I need the with this sunroof ?

Yes you need the strengthening around the frame.
It stiffens the roof quite a lot.

That's the one I used to fit at Car Hood and yes, it does need the stiffeners, or the first time you shut it tight, it will rip the rear fitting screws out of the roof!
