The DNA test shall reveal all! I'm having to do it out of bear necessity......
Quote:
Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Old Mother Nature's recipes
That brings the bare necessities of life

Wherever I wander, wherever I roam
I couldn't be fonder of my big home
The bees are buzzin' in the tree
To make some honey just for me
When you look under the rocks and plants
And take a glance at the fancy ants
Then maybe try a few

The bare necessities of life will come to you
They'll come to you!

Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
That's why a bear can rest at ease
With just the bare necessities of life

Now when you pick a pawpaw
Or a prickly pear
And you prick a raw paw
Next time beware
Don't pick the prickly pear by the paw
When you pick a pear
Try to use the claw
But you don't need to use the claw
When you pick a pear of the big pawpaw
Have I given you a clue ?

The bare necessities of life will come to you
They'll come to you!

So just try and relax, yeah cool it
Fall apart in my backyard
'Cause let me tell you something little britches
If you act like that bee acts, uh uh
You're working too hard

And don't spend your time lookin' around
For something you want that can't be found
When you find out you can live without it
And go along not thinkin' about it
I'll tell you something true

The bare necessities of life will come to you
You are becoming unbearable! Now go away!

"Hey 'Marty', I'm not your Daddy, nah, naah, nah nah" - to the tune of whatever that stupid song was.

Right, back to proper Moggie orientated posting!

Picked up a brand new large roll of blue corded carpet from Finchley this evening. Not the stuff with the foam backing either. Oodles enough for a complete carpety retrim... all for the cost of a bit of petrol. Nice. Good old Freecycle.

No I haven't got any photos of it Justyn.

Neat little Moggie there Nick, nice colour too.

Work will recommence again on the Moggie (now that there is no Nellie to lead me astray).

Wasted two hours at the garage looking for the stupid locking nut thing from my grinder. Went home on a whim and found it after 10 seconds. Arse!

Went back to the garage and took the eye bolt out, nice and easy. Then tried to take off the exhaust, eventually had to grind off the bracket that secured the downpipe to the manifold (minimal damage incurred  )

About to start the grinding off the knackered chassis rail when the generator ran out of petrol. It obviously wasn't meant to be done today. Tomorrow will see a start to the process and some piccies (honest).

Am losing the Moggie love somewhat but I will persevere.

Nick, that Minor Traveller must be about one of the last? Does it have the steering lock as found on late ones?
Ken, sorry about that, but sometimes little, ostensibly unimportant things can bug a person for ages if he doesn't put them to sleep, as it were.

Four words of caution for anyone replacing a chassis leg on a Minor: Clutch relay shaft bush!
Some pattern legs, if they're drilled for the bush and its retaining plate at all, aren't drilled as accurately as genuine, Heritage-approved ones. Oh sure, it all goes together but that clutch can be as heavy as a sinner's soul if alignment on the leg (the rubber end) isn't perfect.
Usual bodge is to manipulate the gearbox (the lignum vitae end) a little to make up the difference.

A what, what, what what?

Where the hell does that fit into the N/S chassis rail? Hmm, all I took off was the eye bolt. Must admit I haven't looked at anything else, didn't think there was anything else to worry about.

Oh good grief, more hassle. Thinking: gallon of petrol/matches.

Can't wait for the GT6.
