Things are progressing quite nicely in fact possibly MOT time next week. After hours and hours of sanding I now have one side in red primer. Back axle is built ready to go on just waiting for some new spring insulation pads so I can then get it fitted. Interior is now in, not too happy as the rear squab is badly damaged and also the drivers seat. Went to try the clutch but this has seized solid can't even press the clutch in. Pic  Any advice always welcome Darren |

Nice bodywork here Dazza please feel free to do some on my toledo sounds to me like either the clutch slave or master piston has seized just an Idea

It is probably prudent to invest in a complete set of new clutch hydraulics.

Great stuff Darren, it's starting to look like a car again now. I'd tend to agree with Ian and, assuming that the clutch trouble is hydraulics-related, then there's no sense in spoiling the sheep for a hap'orth of tar. |

Thank you Gents Well I have been using upol flyweight filler and when I done a few coats of the red primer as the pic in last post. When I went back to it the next day, there was a few spots where there was some pin hole's and slight scratches, amazing what you don't pick up until you change the colour. Anyway for the last few hours I have been using Etch high build primer, and the results are looking good, (I used 2 1/2 cans of red primer filler and still could't fill the holes). Also started fitting the rear axle, lower arms, dampers and radius arms, taking the seized radius arm of was a total mare and killed my grinder cutting the bolt head off. Lots of copper grease is being used on the bolts, hopefully to make things easier if they ever need to come of again. Pics:   Things are looking good for MOT towards the end of next week. Finally got some brown on the rear arch panel today. Just waiting for parts to arrive and I'm on hols from work this week so will get as much as I can done. It will be a last minute decision as to whether she will get to her booking at the MOT station on Saturday. Pic  All the best Darren |

Things are going quite well, it's a good feeling when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel and bolting things on instead of taking them off. Managed to put the last door card in, my dad made one from a 1300 door card that we took of a door before I gave the door's to Glen. Got to make use of him while he was down for the weekend  .Today I got some more paint on, the boot front looked bad in different light so got my dad to strip it to bare metal and done it again, this time it looks pretty good. Fitted the exhaust and back axle today. Got to fit the rear anti roll bar, and yet another axle breather  I broke the new one. Just glad I never chucked the old one, as it only need the cap. Just got to figure a way of getting the threaded plastic out of the axle as it snapped right at the base.Hoping to have everything bolted on by tomorrow night. Then it's just a case of getting the o/s rear quarter done and some general tidying up of the front wings and a few rust spots on the doors and of course to get her started  Pic This pic I thought I had put on a few weeks ago:  And how the rear looks  All the best Darren |

One job at a time, It will soon come around, if someone had said to me 6 months ago it would be MoT'd this year I would of bitten there hand off Darren |

It's been a tough week but Mable is now on 4 wheels for the first time in about 2 yrs. The MOT was cancelled today, as I was waiting for some more parts to arrive which some still haven't. The clutch master and slave are now fitted and bled, and those eezibleed kits are superb value for money. The clutch bled in less than 30 secs  .I've still got to get new boots and a battery as the old one has had it. So probably looking at another 2 weeks for the MOT. I'm not going to put any pics up now until she is finished but I will keep you informed on how things are going. Just can't wait now until I turn the key and go to the beach and take the final pics All the best Darren |
