August 2nd is the 43rd anniversary of it's DOFR, it'd be nice to be driving it on the day, maybe even going for an MOT!

Steve
My mistake, DOFR is actually September 1st, so I have another month!

As I write this, paint prep is almost complete, I have a bit on the OSF wing to finish and the drivers door to refit, then a quick nib back of primer all over for a key and it's ready for colour, hopefully this will be going on on Sunday if the painter shows up! He may be good and effectively free (he owes me a big one) but he's not entirely reliable!

Pics in primer tomorrow.

Steve

Pics as promised, only a day late! If the gods are with me, the colour should be applied Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest!

Colour is on! It's VERY bright but i'm really chuffed with the job he's done in difficult conditions. And only one tiny snotter in the whole job! Really feel like the end is in sight now!

Pics to follow, probably Saturday night after Cliff has been by to do the Vinyl roof etc.

Steve

Cliff has been and worked his magic and here it is!

To say i'm stoked is an understatement! I'm now thinking it may be possible to get it, not finished exactly, but essentially complete, street legal and driveable for the Malvern show in August.

Thanks Sam, I still hate red cars, but the colour is growing on me by the hour! I'll certainly never lose it in a car park! And SWMBO loves it!

Fitting up is going apace, the screens are going in tomorrow a bit of stonechip and satin black on the sills and touch up of the rear light panel, bumpers and headlights, which are all ready to go on, pinstripes, then theres really only the interior to deal with and I have around 95% of that here, just need to get it all installed, along with non-essential stuff like the leccy windows, central locking, console and stereo.

Doesn't sound too bad if you say it fast!

Steve

Generally I prefer the red reds (signal etc.) to the 1970s orange reds (vermillion, flamenco etc.) but on that car it looks GREAT.

Windscreen and rear window in today, I couldn't resist adding a few non essentials whilst the glass is clean!

I still have a small dilemma, I have a black Sprint coachline, but still can't decide whether to fit it or leave it off. The car won't have the rust trap lower rubbing strips, I kinda like the clean, minimalist look, OTOH, a Sprint should have a Sprint coachline!

Looking awesome Steve. I think it would suit the coach line, but that's just my opinion - it's your car!
