You mean to say you bought a car from someone with legs like this?

Good luck with the car Jono, it sounds like a good 'un. Please don't be afraid to ask any questions you may have.

Luckily for me, thats the first ive seen of his legs ;)

Thanks all, first challege is getting it in the barn, a new battery had it running and moving, stopped moving in reverse, i assume it needs new trans fluid.

Should be ok with a tickle of the welding stick and some tidying up though!

I didn't really plan to, but I can't weld and don't have facilities to, whereas Jono does. If he ever decides he's bored of Dolly then I'll have her back, and of course once she's on the road Jono'll drive here and the previous owner can see her!

Alan, what're you doing with photos of my legs?!

What you need to do now is to join the club and buy the excellent repair panels and fibreglass front valance that Alun sells!

Youre all too kind! really appreciate such comments.

Not got as much done today as id hoped.

Ended up going to halfords to get a refund for the ball joints i paid for that they then said they couldnt get for me. Got some hammerite smooth and some grease while i was down there.

Greased up the inside of the hubs and the bearings, ready do go back on the stub axles. Stub axles had the rest of the paint put on, still not dry otherwise i would have it assembled minus calipers now. Bloody cold weather was stopping the paint drying so theyre currently on some cardboard in the kitchen making use of the warmth!

Decided to use the last of the light trying to get the door cappings off. Took me ages to work out how to get the window winders off, once i had it was fairly straightforward. Got the cappings off fairly ok. Drivers one came off fine. Passenger one decided to break.

Reason for this was the clips that hold them on at the top. Last one got stuck and split it, it might glue back together ok, might have to get a new one, we'll see. Reason they've come off is for rubbing down and refinishing, all the varnish is coming off like plastic in chunks. Same will have to happen for rear doors and dashboard as well.

Other than that, thats all i managed, might get an hour in after college tomorrow, i'll have to see how im feeling!
