Today has been a good day, with lots achieved, so much so, I can basically say it's all back together again. The only things that are still to be fitted are both front doors chrome trim strip, but I need to buy some new clips before they go back on, and refit the window winder handles. Next big job is the joy of flatting back and polishing, another job I hate, but needs must. Also need to sort a new MOT out, as it ran out a couple of weeks back, but apart from maybe headlight adjustment after they were removed, kind of hope it shouldn't be a problem passing.

Now it's all back together the colour scheme really works on it I think.

Finally got round to compounding and polishing the front, still have the rear, doors and roof to do, but as I don't have a proper machine, it's taking a while to get things up to scratch. Still a few dodgy areas that may need some rectification work, but overall I'm happy with the results.

If mine comes out half as good I'll be happy. I'll be getting to the same stage as you once I've got the car painted.

It's the worst part I reckon, unless you have a proper machine polisher. So far most has been done by hand with a little help from a 12v polisher I've had for yonks that doesn't really do much. Maybe I should ask Santa for one?

I suppose I should tie this up now and say, it's basically finished :)

Mot passed, new tax disc and we're back in business, plus I bought it a present too :)

They're never finished until the day you sell the car.

Hence the word basically  Few bits to do still, paint underside of bonnet, have some underseal to do the wheelarches etc, still need to refit the window winder handles, and polish up a couple of areas of paint which will be done after christmas, as I know what santa is bringing. So a few bits still to do, but there's nowt to stop it being back in use and that's the main thing, I can use it again :D

Let us remind ourselves as to why this car is called "Patch"...

Now I call that a result!

Did this car belong to a guy called Paul from Southampton about 5 years ago?

The previous owner was beefertoo so he might've bought it from Paul.

Not as far as I know, it came from Wales where it had been for some time, and without checking I think it was somewhere in the West Midlands before than, it hasn't had an address in Southampton in the last 10 or so I don't think.
