thanks for the comments.......yesterday i did bit of colouring in on the body,did the rear drivers arch and boot area,new paint went on well,but the colour tone is out,,new paint look more redy,but think thats just new new paint compared to 37yr weathered paint,but good compound paste and buffing will sort some blending in.......then i sorted out colourtune and timing,colortune burning blue and 10 degree on timing and tickover around 950rpm...not done test drive might leave that till later on,,,give it good boot :mrgreen:

car going great now :mrgreen: after the drama of a fuel leak from the tank,today ive got someone making one in alloy,he said it should be ready next weekend,soon as ive got and all points fit,il sort some pictures out and post them on here,what i can make out he knows what he`s doing :D seen a few that he`s made for other and WOW nice 8), i`ve left him with my red dolly tank and sender(also holed 9 of them lol) as a template,but he did say it wont be so curvy! i said dont mind,as long as it fit and work like it should do

well,got the new alloy tank,yeah looks good,roughly same shape,few bits have changed,just need to fit and try it

alloy tank needs to be chop about 4 inch of the back so it clears the valence support panel where the tank bolts on too...no biggy but more exspence

That is good news, remember those tanks are the same throughout the Dolly range, so there could be a reasonable market for the builder if the finished product receives a good review on here, with some good pictures, rough prices and a fitting guide...............

does it hold the same amount of fuel ? do you know if he has fitted any baffels inside the tank
