I tend to leave spring and shock in the car and disconnect at the bottom of the shock to save all that flapping about
but good job....

Not had much time to get stuck in then on top of work and what not I found out I fractured my wrist from a Brampton banger meet almost 6 weeks ago oh well onwards and upwards
knocked a roll over spit up, for the front just used what I had lying around, and the back I used an engine stand, needs a bit more work but seems to work ok

When you get past the structural rot, I have a very good used nosecone section that will cure that rot for you.

Can't beat a bit of rust! Where's the fun without it? It's looking good, wish I could find a toledo within my price range as a project but such is life I suppose. Might have to scrounge together some more money to try get the one in the for sales section on here. Oh the life of a student :P

Keep up the good work.

Made a start on cutting the rusty bits out and then fabbed a sill reinforcing panel which gave me a chance to test a die punch ive had and never used

Need to find a better way of bending metal other than the 2 pieces angle iron and a lump hammer but on a plus side its hidden so who cares,

also cut the rotten chassis leg off

Image

so now i'm waiting for some spare funds so I can get some repair sections ordered

A little bit more work done, the nearside subframe mount in prep for the chassis rail,

Not the best welding in the world but cant believe how thin the original metal is,

What can I use to treat any surface rust and then protect the hollows of any chassis rails before I weld them up completely?

Trial fit of the chassis leg didn't go to plan :( don't know if i'm just unlucky and got a bad one or cars all out of whack but i couln't get it to fit without repostioning the mount for the subframe it seems a bit to far back by about half a hole, never mind nowt a drill and grinder can't sort, also managed to start repairing rot in the floor made some plates up with a new gadget an air flanger/joggler and hole punch,
