Serious overkill IMO!Find a pic of a stock MkI/II GT6 bonnet, the top louvres are just about perfect, in both size and relative position! Ignore the side ones on the MkII, pretty as they are, the Dollies solid flitches would make them purely ornamental and you look a bit silly! Something like this Stag is just about PERFICK!  Steve |

This is where I positioned the ones on my ex track Sprint. I wanted to go further back but that's as far as I could go without cutting the bracing.

The ones on the bonnet I bought are just a bit lower, but must be better than nowt

Bit confused here  Dolomites have louvers already at the back of the bonnet,or are they just for show ? Could you drill a couple of holes in the top of the bulk head,for the heat to come out the louvers in the bonnet Dave |

I have ascertained they are there to let the rain in and rust the bulkhead, and also collect leaves and insects and then deposit them at the bottom in a hard to clean out area, thus allowing the car to decompose them at leisure. Hope I'm not too far off subject but I have thought of putting sound proofing on my bonnet but will this increase the temperature of the engine bay? |

Besides accelerating the rust issues as per Mahesh's post, the vents in the Dolomite bonnet supply fresh air to all parts of the heater assembly. It's not a good idea to make an air path between the engine bay and the heater as it will permit fumes/smoke into the cabin. That's why the false bulkhead is there! It might make a slight difference, but I doubt it would be noticeable. Wretched things get too hot anyway, a bit hotter than too hot is still much too hot!Steve |

They are probably in the best position for air flow imo. What are the vents from Mart? Tony Quote:

I actually found the link to the vents:- http://www.body-kit.co.uk/product.php/1 ... 1109df1216 They were only about £16 each when I bought mine. I think I got mine off Ebay though iirc. |

My car is staying cool in this weather, needle not going above half. Link to the lourves I had pressed into my bonnet: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=24824 I am using the Saab rad & Volvo header tank plus Evans Waterless coolant.
