It always makes me happy to see her going, such a lovely little car!

Top job Sam!

Thanks James, I think it's time I put some effort into her paint work.

Thanks Tony, I've figured out how I'm going to wire it in and I've started to plan some paint work. In the mean time I've tidied up the boot trim as best I can.

There's not normally a joint there Sam, from memory the pipe travels unbroken from a joint in front of the axle to the back of the car (and is a bit of a pig to fit).

But if it's been done once, it can be done again! Cut the remains off and make a new sleeve joint and Bob's your uncle!

That was an exhaust joiner I put in to rotate the tail pipe down away from the boot floor.

I think it was an Audi one, I'll find out for you.

I measured the OD of the pipe and ordered a joiner this afternoon. She got us home though, I just pulled the back-box off and (noisily) drove home from the dales in a sulk.

A short section of 1.5/8" ID pipe arrived today, so I shortened it, cut slots in the end and linked the pipes back up, held in place with a couple of Mikalor clamps....
Let's see how it holds!

Nice one Sam

It should hold fine, that's basically what was there before.

Not much has happened with Binny over the last year or so, not much driving, not much work. The poor old girl has suffered a little from the lay-up but back on the road from today when she passed her MOT with flying colours.
Diff pinion oil seal needs doing and there's atf fluid coming from somewhere (gearbox sump I think). Mostly paint/bodywork REALLY needs a tidy up to make it look a bit less patch-work and stop the rust getting hold.

Thanks Tony, with limited opportunities to drive the cars over the last 18 months, coupled with work etc. I've lacked motivation up to now if I'm being honest.
