I hope you have spotted my recent posting in the Dolomite-related (start here) section "If you are proposing to upgrade your 1300, 1500 0r 1850 to have O/D" and found it useful.

Mmmm they wouldn’t look too bad, I did have gt6 steels on before these but, too wide on the front, stuck out pass the wing a bit, not my cuppa.
I do like deep dish steels......
Interesting. I like the deep dished steelies too and had the 5.5 gt6 type on my Vitesse. I was thinking that they might make a nice winter wheel for my Sprint and was keeping an eye out for a set to try, but not now you have confirmed that they are a bit wide up front!

Good luck with the OD conversion, not that you’ll need it, you’ll have it done in a jiffy

Cheers buddy! It’s getting another makeover as I’ve decided to keep it as my run around.

car looks nice on Sprint wheels. Could use photo of itin D Mix if you can send me a copy. How is the o/d progressing? Would like one on mine but bit expensive to buy and get installed.

Bish, if you want some steel wheels for winter use, how about 4x14" MGF steel spare wheels? They run about £20 a pop complete with a (usually) good condition or unused 185/65/14 tyre from scrappies. I'm running one as a spare on the Dolomega. Not particularly pretty, but functional and clear the rear arches OK. The deep dish 5.5J Dunlop rims (which are NOT GT6 option, but Formula Ford racing wheels from the 60s, the little single seaters used Herald suspension) have an ET around 5 against the Dolomite's 35. They look good (I too like a deep dish wheel) but you'd need Sprintspeed arches to clear them.

Thanks for the info Steve, it’s appreciated. I’ll have a look into that.

I had been toying with modifying some Dolly wheels. Back in the day I used to remove the centres from aircooled beetle wheels and weld them into wider rims. A bit like banding, but better, plus you can set your ET exactly where you want it. I would need to look at a Dolly steel and then see if there’s a 13 x 5.5 rim available out there...

I don’t have the same appetite for steel bashing as I used to have though!

Looking good Will!
What happened to the stripes in the last picture? or are they masked off?

Nice bit of bling under the bonnet too! Very smart.

Hope all is well.
Best wishes

MC

Thank you Matt
I had a go at the stripes my self, looked like I had a few bevies when I finished, so to save embarrassment all round I removed them.
SE Stripes are a bit trickier then sprint ones!
