Ok - there’s a bit to do but comes with all parts, panels & 2 engines. There’s only been 2 owners if the V5 is to be believed.

I’ve rebuilt a Sprint about 15 years ago which I had to sell to fund a house extension. I’m pretty familiar with them having had a 1300FWD and a Dolomite 1850HL and used to be in the Triumph Dolomite club, and 1300FWD register before that with Steve Waldenberg.

So once I’ve finished my other project (MK1 Golf GTi) I’ll get started on it.

The shell on this Magenta one is pretty good and will definitely go again. It’s an early 74 reg.

I’ll try and keep you updated 😉

Thanks gents.

Won’t be starting it until late next year / early 22. However I could get the body work all done and painted pending getting time to rebuild it. I admitted defeat with bodywork years ago and I’m certainly no painter so it’ll be a professional job - which it deserves.

I’ve got tons of parts to sift through and catalogue to see what’s missing/needs refurbishment/replacement. There’s 2 engines that need rebuilding as well.

Sadly that’s not my barn - it’s where the auction was held and where I picked it up from.
Wish it was my place :?

Managed to make a start on the Sprint earlier than anticipated.

Got 2 new tyres for the back to help us push it around.

Took it to body shop today and got her over onto the side to make it easier to work on. The N/S had been pretty much completed by the previous owner at some point in past and looked a good job to be honest so may just do a bit of investigation, but initial thoughts are leave it as seems well done.

The underside and floors are very good, bit of pox in one chassis leg and inner wing but not bad at all for a 46 yr old.

Gives me chance to get the running gear renovated whilst body being fettled.

Few pics:

Welcome back, you have definitely chosen well.
I am closing out my magenta restoration after hmmm a few years.
We are on the road and just finishing some trim bits.
If you are York based you’re not far from me in Bradford.

It’s probably a bit of a “marmite” colour, but I think magenta is a super 70’s colour that really suits the Sprint. Plus it wasn’t available for long.

I’m aiming for a standard finish, but perhaps add front seats with the head rests (for safety if nothing else) and a stainless exhaust.

Option to put in overdrive too, but conscious of keeping it standard

Work progressing on the Sprint.

Inner & out sills on. All underside patched where necessary and dinitrol and red oxide.

On with O/S rear arch this week then rear panel next week and probably pre-paint prepping

Getting done quicker that I imagined 😊

Love the colour. I've got the magenta Vanguards model. Steve W. is still with us and he edits the club magazine these days. He wsa the Club chairman at one point. Unfortunately, his wife passed away recently but that's another story.

That Sprint is a Hull registration like my 1300 FWD was.
