Hi all,

A couple of weeks back I made a rash purchase, fuelled by the fact that I have childhood memories of my father owning a yellow dolomite sprint.

I spotted a rather tired looking 1500HL that had been converted to sprint running gear at some point in its life. Door bottoms were rotten, it needed some work to the sills and some patches in the floor and had little to no interior but regardless I decided to purchase it.

My wife and I run a single seat racing car at hillclimbs and sprints and the plan is to use the dolomite in the modified series production class once I have sorted the rust! I have aquired 3x good doors, just a passenger front to obtain.

Plans are:

Sort the rust and repaint vermillion and paint the roof satin black
Take out the current sports recliners and fit 1x FIA bucket seat
1x 4 point FIA harness
Custom cages 6 point cage
Fire extinguisher system
External electrical cut off

Engine work will entail fitment of a good quality head gasket, new water pump assembly, ally radiator and a good tune up. It already has a partial stainless system and spax adjustable suspension.

Would you care to make me a price on the front seats you are removing?, might help a bit with other expenses!

Steve

Did you buy that in Uxbridge ?

I’m interested in the door cards if you remove those.

Thanks, Richard

Got round to doing some work/investigation on the car this week. So this is where it’s at:

Front end of passenger sill is shot
Front end of driver sill is shot
Passenger A post has a small hole at base of windscreen
Hole in drivers floor
Hole in passenger floor

Worst bit of all..... holes around the driver side rear subframe mount. Not sure I can repair that one properly without dropping the subframe.

Decided to try my 13x8 wheels and arches. Fit alright.

Best get the welder out.
