I've just spoken with Tran-X, having seen them at the NEC over the weekend. They offer a Salisbury plate-type LSD for Dolomites listed at the wallet-busting price of £690 + VAT. The chap I spoke to says they will knock 10% off for a Classic Car Show price but that if they had an order of 10 or so could extend the discount to 25%, which means the price would come down to around £595 inc. VAT. Considering some folk have paid £450 - £500 for a used unknown condition unit I don't think that price is too bad. They can turn the units round in 1-2 days. Is anyone else interested in a joint purchase to try and get the maximum discount?

Cheers
Stuart

Wouldn't the part number for this be the same as a TR4-6 diff?

The LSD is essentially exactly the same as the TR one, but has a "specially designed cross-pin" which is supposed to maintain pressure on the half shafts through cornering, while the TR diff (for the IRS cars at least), obviously doesn't need this. That's why the TR diff is slightly cheaper. I think Darren is right and we're unlikely to get 10 of us interested but 4 is better than none! I'm hopeful they will be offering another good discount at the Auto-sport show in January.

Cheers,
Stuart

Hi, I am running a Tran X diff in my sprint and they are very good. It been in foe several years know, done 25,000 miles as well as many track days and auto solos.
I have an account with Tranx ( left over from my ralling days) and can get 15% discount. if that helps Brings the price down to the Ex Vat price. Can find out a price for Del to AUS if that is any help.

Hmm now things are getting interesting! Do you reckon you could squeeze them for another 5-10% for a group buy of 5 units Paul?

Cheers,
Stuart

Any updates on this?

I just got a bonus which came out of the blue so am eager to spend it on something useful before my wife gets a hold of it.

Cheers
Mark
