It seems that no matter how careful I am I always get a surge of petrol out of the filler pipe, especially towards the end when filling my Sprint. This stains the paint in the area.
Does anybody have a fuel splash guard that fits around the filler neck to divert such a surge of petrol away from the body?
Will pay top money. Here in Australia such guards can be obtained but are for larger filler necks.

I used to suffer with this problem when brimming my tank. Then I repositioned the breather pipe and now it fills right to the first click without so much as a splash. Make sure that the breather isn't kinked or perished, make sure that it doesn't sit higher than the neck of the tank and you should be OK.

When I first bought my 1850, it did that, turned out some one had fitted a new tank and left the plastic dust cap on the breather and just fitted the hose over it :wary:
