A couple of pics of the Silver Sprint at a track day last weekend. Great day with no problems and a slight improvement on previous best time. Back at the track in a couple of weeks for another event.

The car looks so good in Silver! What is one of the most boring colours on a modern always tends to look very sharp on a classic.

Yes its all about contrast, the black sets off the silver nicely unlike the whole shed load of silver we get in a modern.
Car looking good!

I have to agree that the Dolomite shape looks fantastic in silver. It is also such a perfect 70's colour - a fact often overlooked, possibly because with modern cars we are all so bored of silver.

It reminds me very much of the Fiat 132 - another well appointed fine handling rear drive car from exactly the same era, whose manufacturer was bold enough to make available in silver at the time.

Good to hear from you again Paul.

Whilst the pictures are good they really don't do this car justice. I saw it on the day and it looks even better in reality ... and better still racing around the track! Trust me. It is awesome !
Sounded sweet too!
Did you finally get the 0.9 of a second you were chasing Paul??

There were some cars in the sixties in silver too like the Ford 1600E and its fellow stable mates, Ford called it silver fox and the quality was so poor it peeled off and the cars rusted to nowt :woohoo:
VW were the first to have their cars painted in metalic paints that stayed on! as I recall.

Friends of mine in Italy have silver metallic Sprints. They had a respray by the BL importer at that time and had a leather interiour. The respray was very neat, you could not see the original colour. All the silver ones were Inca yellow and unsellable because they did look like the Italian taxies. After standing many years in the Italian showrooms they were painted silver and did sell.
