Good morning all..

Just wondered if anyone had sourced annual track day insurance associated with their normal road insurance.

I have asked a few companies but can’t find anyone that does it.

I do around 3-4 track days a year and at the moment buy a daily insurance for it which runs at about £80ish..

Nigel

I've never done a track Day, would like to do one, but didn't know you needed insurance

It’s good fun… can go at your own pace.. but nice to get the car going at a pace

Insurance is not mandatory but I get it just in case I damage my car or others as your standard insurance won’t cover you..

As won’t your standard breakdown cover.. I drive to and from the track so useful to have track breakdown cover to get home..

I have wondered about doing a club track event.. the TSCC do a few throughout the year…

Be good to get a few dolomites on track at the same time…

I enjoyed many track days in the past but never took out insurance for the day, knowing it would be at my own expense if I, or anyone else, pranged my car. I was lucky to only have one incident which resulted in the offside rear door being dented. You do not need cover to insure yourself against hitting other track users. If you hit someone on track, they can not claim off you. On saying that, it's not a bad idea to get insurance for your own track car.

Nigel, you could try MGs on track www.mgs-on-track.com, we had a couple of events with them at Silverstone. We also had a few events at Castle Combe with the TR Register.

Ah, yes - Happy days

Likewise, never bothered with insurance (not saying you shouldn't: You do whatever puts your mind at ease) - Figured if I messed up it would be at my own expense..... Which I did; a couple of times.
Mercifully no-one ever messed things up for me, so no idea how that would have panned out.
