Information kindly provided by Jamie Weidner (former owner of "Sprintspares");
Quote:
Exotic Sprint racing at Brands Hatch in June
Jochen Bunkus from Hamburg is racing at Brands Hatch over the weekend of 14-15 June in a highly modified Dolomite Sprint the like of which has never been seen in the UK. He is the European Champion of the Mod Saloon series he drives in and to my knowledge is the longest continuous Sprint racer having raced the same car since the early 1980's to date.
He has never raced in the UK and wants to do it once, this is the only time this Dolomite will race here.
There is free parking on both days and a free campsite at the circuit (no facilities though). A weekend ticket is £18 and a day ticket is £10.

It would be great if there was some video record of this racing sprint for those who can't be there.

Have just heard from Jochen's daughter Linda that the races which include Herr Bunkus and his Sprint are now both on Sunday, as is the practice session for him. Just to make the point Team Bunkus will NOT be racing on Saturday 14 June, but there are 2 races one before and one after noon on Sunday the 15 June.

The team may still arrive on Friday to set up and prepare, I'll advise that as and when I know.

I hope someone will be able to take some video and put those up on YouTube. For obvious reasons, I won't be there!

If a red Porsche 944 waves at a Dolomite on the road :D wave back as it might be me but if its sunny and a funny little sports car like a MX5 blue with two stripes down it waves then that will be me..............and Diane of course.

I am looking forward to it.
