Cheers all, so basically a well worthwhile and flexible system all round.
That's me convinced!
Reckon the whole upgrade will cost about £200 plus a good rolling road session.
I'm planning on having the engine out soon on my green sprint to swap it onto a freshly rebuilt subframe and also cure a few minor oil leaks from the engine and box.
This seems like the ideal time to fit the trigger wheel and sensor too.
In summary, the green sprint will probably stay on the std cam and keep the HS6 SU's.
Tune up parts are only going to be stainless sports exhaust, K+N's and the MegaJolt kit.
I'm happy for the MAP sensor method but I'll use a vacuum pull off from both the inlet ducts, probably just before they each split into two. I.e just after the carb mounts. I might look out for a small vacuum chamber to join them together then into the MAP sensor on the MegaJolt.
Once all this is done a rolling road tune to tweak the ignition map and obtain the most suitable needles.
That'll be it performance wise on the green car then it's rust/bodywork time
The red sprint? I have fair plans for the red sprint and it's power plant but that's another thread
