Iv started a fotopic photo gallery for the club and im putting together some photos of racing dollys, you can see the thread and web site url here viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8952

Im just trying to get the club "out there" so to speak!!

So im looking for some photos of racing Dolomites and your permission to use the photo!!

If you pop them on here i can save them and upload them, can be of any year, old, new, original photos of when they were being raced as factory cars, crashes etc etc anything!!!!

Thanks in advance

Nathan

Race Car Porn

I thought it might help with my tinkering motivation if we had a gallery of race cars. I'll get things started - others can add cars and add names to any whose owners I can't id.

The above pic is Nigel and Claire Talton, we need them on here! As far as I can see they are the ONLY people that rally a Dolly in the UK... Anybody else going to rally a Mite or am I to be the next person to do that?

If you look at the picture of Bischops car, you just see the orange Sprint on the left.
That is one of my road legal cars, an Swish import we converted to DTA injection and ignition, 40mm TB (street you know)
Ed had the tichnical price and my car was 2' .
This picture is taken at a Doly meeting we special came over with 3 Dutch Sprints, on the day of the funeral of Lady Di.

Course car? Were you out on the 2008 event, and are you out on the 2009 one? (My entry for the 2009 SWER went in earlier this week, navigating a Pug 106)

I reckon someone on here should build an Endurance Spec Tolly, it'd make a great rival to the Escorts and occasional Mini we see (Endurance Road Rally rules require a maximum of 1400cc, and require most of the engine to be standard amongst other things, levelling out the playing field a bit - The most successful cars at the moment are Rover 214s!)

Nah only did the historic section of it until it overheated :( ive gone into classic rallying (nescro) because of the 1400cc limitations, theres a couple of toledos do that. stage rallying is too much money for an event but night road rallying is just right :) you should try it!

Ah, I didn't know they had a historic section, don't remember one last year.

I've been doing night road rallying for several years ;-) Started off doing uni club-level events, then local all-nighters and on to more national stuff & Endurance (especially now as all-night events have virtually died out in the South-East...)

Even managed to finish second on this year's inter-association rally, beating some of the best in the business :)

Guys

Here is one that deserves a look. :P

http://www.club.triumph.org.uk/events/t ... omite1.jpg

Nigel Garrett is only six times classic touring car champion in recent years even though competition has grown stronger and stronger.

Not the best of pictures i know but here he is back in 2000 at mallory park, battling with a 5.7 litre camero, dispite all the advances Nigel took the win with a faultless drive.

Been watching these guys for a few years now, proper entertainment. Lets hope he is back out in 2009, i can't wait.

There's a brilliant French forum, with loads of racing Dollies at:
http://www.forum-auto.com/sqlforum/sect ... 361117.htm

For some pictures from cars from the Netherlands and Belgium, take a look at:
http://triumphdolomite.blogspot.com/

...which is my weblog.

What about a hard cover book celebrating 30 years of road/race pictures and statistics of the phenomenal Sprint, a true world car!

The Camaro was prepared by me. I could not let it beat a Dolly could I. However, Nigel Garrett bought that Camaro at the end of the season.
