I rang them up, no change. Peter James will insure me on better terms than last year, with £80 less than last year. But they're still £200 more than FJ as they'll only do fully comp.

I'm not sure if I can recommend these to you, but, I use a company called Frank Pickles, they do most of my Kit Car friends and are Human to talk with, plus they are very competitive, Worth a Try?

Well I'm 23 and currently insuring my toledo 1300 for £140 a year with lancaster.

When I was 21 I insured a 1979 chevette with a corsa 1.6 16v engine fitted for £900 with SureTerm

Having done the rounds this afternoon I can safely say, Adrian Flux will quote under 25s (and very nearly got my business! £20 out), Lancaster also still will, Peter James were a no and Footman James would only quote on a Moggy Minor.
Graham Sykes were recommended to me, but Lancaster came in with a great price, so they got my business.

My last year of having this hassle! Hooray!
Then the real fun starts...

Ive got mine on modern car policys now its weirdly cheaper but come renewal they are all going with the NFU.

DAF cost £354 with Autodirect.
Triumph is on laid up cover so is £75 a year.
Van is with Hastings for a scary £1400 a year.

Seeing as I have been a named driver on an NFU policy for 7 years now with no accidents they said that they would cover all my vehicles on one tailored policy for less than im paying now. In this case it has paid to be with the same insurer as they will not normally offer a policy unless only as a named driver to under 25s

Here are my quotes for the Dolly, as a garaged, 2nd car doing 4000 miles a year with a value of £1300. I'm 20 and have had my license a couple of years.

Peter James - £1070
Lancaster - Have to be over 23
Adrian Flux - £1737
Sureterm Direct - £1615
Footman James - Only Moggy Minors for under 23s
RH Classic - Must be over 25
Peter Best - Must be over 21, 25 for classic policy
Academy Insurance - £1138
Liverpool Victoria (the provider for the Yaris) - £1312 TPFT only
Flux Direct - £880 (I went for this one!)
Insure2Drive - £1100 But with an £850 excess.

(I've missed a few more obscure ones as it's a lot of typing!)

That was the order I did phoned them in, spent all afternoon on the phone and by the end of the day I had pretty much given up, first thing the following morning I phoned Flux Direct and got the only reasonable quote I could find! :lol:

I'm 18, Dolly is my first car, I am paying £1700 with 10 000 annual miles, I think it's with "SABRE" bought through either "express insurance, or insure2drive"
Not too bad for my age group!

I know you young ones feel bad about what you have to pay and it reminds me of when I was young myself. I could only afford a Mini 850 which required a sundial to time 0-60 and was 5 weeks pay to earn.
In fact I changed to a 500cc BSA motorbike so that I could save enough money to get married and buy a house (deposit £600) to match the £600 my future wife had already saved, the only difference is that now the money men have abolished inflation (apart from what we pay) so a mortgage is shed loads of money for years into the future as opposed to tough for a couple of years in my time.

Basicly the banks and insurance companies have you by the throat.
However claiming for dubious neck injuries was unheard of.

I paid £110 for TPF&T on my 10 year old 1300TC in 1978, that's roughly £520 these days. So yes, the youngsters do have it tough, I do feel sorry for them especially the young lads.

James is over 21 and FJ wouldn't touch him this year... Getting tricky. Last year of me having this issue however!

I have found Lancasters to be the best so far. Used them with all my classics.
I had my Dolomite Sprint back in 2008 when I was 21 with No NCB, my first car.
Cost me £400 TPF&T at the time.
Next I got the TR7 which was about the same with 1yr NCB and Fully Comp.
Now I have the 1850, its about £200 with No NCB as its on my daily, 12k miles, commuting and Fully Comp.
Used the breakdown service a few times as well :lol: Well worth it!

Footman james were just being ****holes lol

Ended up with Adrian flux, £497 for 7500 miles, buisness use, all the bells and whistles. Gone up a little from last year, but that cos I've added the business cover. Was pleased when I started ringing around and getting answers of "no, we won't insure you beacuse you car is modified" from everyone!

Just as a matter of interest, has insurance dropped in the last month or has it dramatically decreased now I'm 20? Managed to get a mainstream quote off a comparison website for an H reg 1300 for £640, 1yr NCB.

I think theyve just started being a bit fairer on us. I can insure a XJ6 for the same amount it cost me to insure a mini last year. This is also with 0 no claims and an own fault accident!
