thinking about this issue a bot more I reckon heat transfer on an HS equipped 1850 is fairly minimal. The float chamber is isolated by a rubber mounting from the carb body anyway.

I find the problem with recent rubber mounts is getting a good seal at the manifold flange. Last one I did I had to use hylomar for the first ever time on a manifold flange, else the idle was up the spout, wouldnt run at all without choke etc and the tell tale spray of carb cleaner revealed a leaky flange. Suprising how that little extra bit of air causes so much trouble.

Jon I did yours not that long ago...have a look at the breather hoses too.
Moss do them...same as for TR7.

As far as I can tell, it is indeed each! Pretty much the same as the Quiller price for the Sprint equivalents :o
