Quality of the refurb looks fantastic. Wood and the std gauges look brilliant.
My teeth are itching though.....
The oil pressure gauge.....
The font on the gauge is different to the others and the needle is pointing down......
I’ve use one out of a late MGB where the movement of the gauge is the same as the fuel, water and voltage, so it matches and the lettering on the gauge is in the same font.
I’ve been wanting to put an oil temp gauge on my sprint for years. But have resisted because I can’t find one to match.
Sorry for being a bit ocd!
For the OCD minded, A TR6 oil pressure guage has the correct font and layout to exactly match a Dolomite's lesser dials.
I was hunting on ebay recently for a VDO 0-5bar electric OPG to use in the Carledo's new improved dash (the 0-10 bar one I had in stock wouldn't tally up with my 0-5 bar sender) and you can also get a Smiths accessory one in this pattern as part of their "Classic" range. I may be mistaken, but I think it comes in pipe or electric operation too. Not cheap of course, but if you can't stand mismatched clocks, well worth the extra! There's an oil temp guage in the range too, but I don't think there's room in the dash!
