Everyone,
I've just returned from my family holiday to Cornwall in my Dolly Sprint. Just over 1400 miles with five adults and a load of luggage (including a top box) on board; what an engine, faultless :D
However, I came across one nasty problem that nearly stopped me getting home and could have been worse!
As you can see, the heavy loading of my sprint had lowered the linking brake pipe across the rear axle enough so that it occasionally contacted the wheel arch, gradually wearing away the pipe! I actually felt the brake pedal go soft at the point that the pipe wall gave way, and I was very grateful for my dual circuit brakes and the fact I was so close to home!
Anyway, a more careful check would have shown that this pipe was not routed as closely to the axle as it should have been and would have saved me a nasty shock and an afternoon's work today replacing it.
Worth a check!
