I'm an endless tinkerer.
I wonder how a Sprint engine might run with Zenith-Stromberg 175 carbs using Jensen-Healey needles. In taking measurements, I see that these carbs would fit under the bonnet of a Dolly Sprint.

I am going to find soon how this set-up works when I make that installation on my newly re-acquired TR7 Sprint.

I also just ordered a pair of NOS SU HIF carbs from Rimmers for 10 pound each, part of Rimmers huge haul of Rover parts from India. This is an amazing bargain.

I wonder how a Sprint engine might run with HIFs.

In making engines run smoothly and well, I have had the best luck with Z-S carbs. They seems to work better, once properly set up.

hateful hateful hateful things! Early 1850s had them until someone in the carburettor department saw sense.

Seen a couple of cars with HIFs fitted, but no reports of how well or how bad...[/url]

Judging by how they hinder a Jensen Healey engine I wouldn’t bother.

My Sprint is running HIFs (believed to be from a Rover) - runs nicely.
