.... one other thing I've noticed is one of the inlet valve shims has a couple of half-moon cut-outs on opposite sides. I thought at first it was breaking up , but no; these cut-outs have been deliberatly machined. Other than that it seems to be in the standard Triumph range at 103 thou. My guess is this shim was used in a valve retaining cap with anti-rotation lugs on the cap. But which car ?
