I am looking at Gaz shocks but where can you get uprated springs from. 250 and 175lb.? |

I may have some front springs around that. I need to check carefully using me as a weight, but they are over 220lb. I have some 175lb rears too, but they are used (fronts are unused)
250 and 175lb.? |

If you buy height adjustable shocks from Gaz, you can use 2 1/4 inch springs. But you will need to purchase a spring platform for top of the 2 1/4 inch springs also from Gaz. With 2 1/4 inch springs there are many many lengths and weight springs available. Paul. |

Thanks Paul, looks like I need the adaptors then and go with 2.5 springs. Any idea on a suitable length of spring for a lower than standard ride. I know the platform will move but is it better to start with 1" lower springs and if so what length is that ? |

You can start with standard length springs and the ride height on ASPs will still go far below any sensible level. But i'm not sure you can actually get uprated poundage springs at standard ride height so you might have to settle for 1" drop. On the Carledo, i'm running stock poundage, (140?) stock height new Sprint springs with ASPs and used stock Toledo rears, poundage unknown but very soft, also with Gaz and it works fine for me, but saying that, the Carledo is very light and has an altered CoG. Your heavier 4 door, long tail shell will require a different setup, but there is plenty of info (if sometimes conflicting) out there on setting up a Sprint. Steve |

Thanks Steve. You have seen mine and it is quite low but I have certainly seen lower. I can't get a finger between the rear tyre and arch. Mine is a bit nose up at the moment but I think the common thought is slightly nose down is better. I was looking at 250 fronts and 175 rears for the best track/ road compromise. It's hard now on unknown springs and old Spax seat adjustables. I just don't want it rock solid and crashing about over all the potholes we have these days. |
