 Post subject: Triumph Dolomite Sprint

What is the purpose of the centre hole in the rear cylinder head cover on a Sprint part 218061 there are 6 fixing bolts but I am unable to workout what the seventh hole in the centre is for, any help would be appreciated

There isn't one there usually on a Sprint. But you can drill & tap it for a coolant take-off.

The works weber manifolds with the remote thermostat housing don't have heater pipes.

Then you take off from the rear plate.

This is the modified plate you can buy to provide a heater take-off on the back of the head. I use one of these on my TR7 with a Sprint engine. The standard Sprint one is usually just the flat plate without that centre hole.
Second picture shows the standard Sprint plate with a standard TR7 one and the modified Sprint one for a TR7.

Where does the pipe connect to on this modification and are there any other changes to pipe work to make it work ?
