Post subject:  Help: Bits of Sprint to identify
I got a bag of bits with the car from the painter, some of which look like they might matter - it drives, there's just little in the way of lights yet.

Can anyone help identify any of these? The bits on the right just look like yer average load of nuts, bolts, screws, and washers, but some of the bits on the left may be recognizable I think.

First picture, top left could be bonnet hinge plates?

Yep, top left is bonnet hinge plates. The plastic part with yellow paint on 2nd below the plates is for mounting the side lights/indicators. Just below that, the screws with the washers on are gearbox tunnel mounting screws. The four big washers just below that look like washers from the subframe mounts.

Interesting, since the bonnet is mounted (if not that well) and the painter won't have touched the tunnel or subframe. Maybe its a treasure trove from a PO's restoration.

Check underneath the front panel where the bonnet hinges fit, you may find nuts and washers where those plates should be!

Yep, no plates - though I couldn't say when they went missing between the previous work, the recent(ish) front end re-build, and the latest re-spray.

The plates are threaded normally to hold the bonnet. Quite important for keeping the panel firm. The 4 bolts without nuts in the stash are likely to be the bolts for them too. (1/4 unf)

Thanks, I'll check if they fit.

I thought the rubber tube with the angled flanges would be something recognizable. Somthing 3/4 inch dia through a bulkhead at an angle of about 70 degrees?

Is it a distorted steering column bulkhead bush?

Is it a distorted steering column bulkhead bush?
Looks nothing like one and the shaped support plate for the bush means it goes through at 90 degrees. Nearest thing I could think of, is something to do with a radio arial. Otherwise, I dunno mate! One more bit recognised, the clear/rusty plasic tube bit is a damaged part of a front sidelight glass.

No, not off ones like those on the front of this Sprint. Could it be off a rear one?
Reverse light lenses (the only clear rear ones) are threaded. Might be off the later style front sidelight.
