I just used a bit of scrap 3/8 diameter steel rod and bent it into a "U" shape and welded a 7/16 ring spanner that I cut up. Where would I be without my welder?
Over the years I have made many special tools like the one that removes the dreaded water pump when the builder of the engine has not smeared the unit with grease prior to fitting.

You need a bent 7/16" ring spanner. Our American cousins call it a distributor wrench. I was lucky enough to find one on Ebay, its the real Triumph special tool a Snap On S349

Could you possibly give me the measurements Russ, so I'll get one made up - much appreciated if you can.

The bend at the business end is about 45mm or 1.75" and the overall length is about 300mm or 12"
