Just returned home after showing the 1982 Dolomite 1300 for the seventh year at The Bradford Classic Car Show. She won runner up prize of a glass trophy, and I am well chuffed. This year there were awards for best Mini, best Jowett, and best of the rest classed as the Runner up Prize which we won. So it won against Bentley's, Jags, Rolls Royce's, Cadillac's, Fords, etc. etc. and some of them were stunning.

Judges were the owner of a car parts manufacturer, retired racing/rally driver and a motoring journalist. All were impressed by its originality and my efforts at conserving it. The journalist has asked me to keep in touch with the intention of doing an article on the car and preserving the more mundane everyday car now disappearing in favour of the more up market and exotic classics.

It has won best in show previously before my ownership but this is the first trophy in my time and it is so good to see a low spec Dolomite be recognised.

Absolutely brilliant, well done, I've followed all your trials and tribulations over the years and it's great to see you get some recognition. :D

Wish I'd gone now... since it was local.
Alongside Triumphs I hope there was a good showing of Jowetts

Well done. Great to see a thumbs up for everyday cars.
Your hard work has been rewarded.
Congratulations.

Dave.

Jowett's are usually not well represented which is a shame seeing it is their home, but this year encouraged by a prize on offer there was the best turn out I've seen in the seven years attending. The Bradford van had the best turn out. I didn't take many of them but here's what I did plus one or to others.

Brilliant! The local connection would really tempt me to a Jowett (if I had infinite space and cash and didn't already have a long wanted list of Triumphs), if I had my choice a Jupiter Roadster would probably be the one.

It just so happened that I was there with my GoPro and I managed to get round virtually all the cars. I even interviewed Bob and Roger with their respective cars. The link to my YouTube video is HERE

Enjoy!

Brilliant Bob, credit to how you look after the car and always try to preserve.
