But it look a lot like the cheap one from Ebay I bought that I was told to stay away from (but its fine so far after 1500 miles)

I think it thought that rebuild with the superflex kit is the best idea.

Though many of the pressed ones are fine, some are iffy. Felt one new one that was terribly notchy.

Some folk, me included, have experienced difficulties getting the pressed coupling to adequately tighten on the rack or intermediate column. This is because they were originally designed for MKI Escort which has a marginally larger spline. The (only) one i've had problems with, came from a reputable supplier, but it's put me off this type! It's on the Carledo, at least until I can find a spare hour to fit my new forged Witor one!

I got mine from Rally Design, albeit a few years ago, and they did a cast version which has been fine. You just have to check clearance on the chassis flange.
