This looks very similar...I've ordered one for comparison with the NOS one I have that I was going to use as a pattern for reproduction...

It is a replacement for the 1500 one and if it is identical to the original part, it will fit over the gear stick. I used the 1500 part for my Sprint conversion.

However I custom made my own metal mounting plate for the gear gaitor and plastic surround. So I don't know if it will fit the proper Sprint part.

Stag, T2000 and Sprint (730405), although slightly different from each other, are these not interchangeable?

Mark one 2000s have the rubber gaiter on show and, before Chris Witor had these remade,
I had seen Stag or Sprint ones suggested as alternative options.

Well, the 1500 one can be ruled out as a direct replacement for standard as it is too small and wouldn’t stretch successfully.

I’ll ask Chris Witor for some dimensions on the big saloon item...

I got it to fit, a bit difficult to get on but it does work.

I am pretty sure that the Stag one will fit. The Sprint and Stag use the same retaining ring.

I also heard a rumour Grimmer am looking at remanufacture.

Hardly surprising, as I mentioned the gear lever gaiter in my original post about 1/4 light rubbers that someone at Rimmer's obviously read, but to date despite promises to the contrary, they have yet to act upon! 30 October is their latest 'promise'???

Meanwhile, the Club funded scheme for slightly more expensive ones would have seen delivery to members prior to the lockdown commencing back in March.

Just picking up on this thread..

Is anyone able to offer a suitable alternative gearbox gaiter that would fit or could be used to replace one on an early Sprint please?

Have seen/read other threads that suggest that a Stag one might do the job but was wandering if anyone had any other potential options that I could consider?

Any ideas/suggestions welcomed.. I have the original Sprint sealing ring so that isn't an issue...

Thanks in advance.....
