Right, no silly jokes about Cheeze

On my Toledo when rummaging about under the brake pedal area, I noticed the wiring Grommet that sits behind the pedals was nothing much less than a snottygooyslimey object that must have looked better at one time, its not sealing the bulkhead, and I doubt very much if it is protecting the loom very much from chafing  either, Has the club got a source for replacements, or a suitable replacement on the internet?

I bought 10 of these, labelled as for Lotus off ebay a couple of years ago and still have a few left.

They're not much fun to change out without slitting the grommet and glueing it back together with superglue. i normally change them whilst the whole loom is out of the car.

Rimmers list part no 600400W which is an 1 1/2 inch dia main harness grommet for £1.68. It is listed under TR2 Electrics, but may be what you are looking for.

A lot of others list it as well: https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... 0400W#ip=1 it would cost more to post from some of those suppliers than the base item cost and as the actual size is listed you might find one at a local motor factors etc.

I just pulled a front end apart from a 1500, loom was still there and I've kept it. Let me check condition of the grommet, if it's serviceable its yours.

I'd be happy to part with one for you. As others have said, P+P is gonna be more expensive than the base part, think I paid around a quid each for them! But it's hardly worth the bother of charging, drop me a PM with your details and I'll get one over to you.

Steve

Thank you gentlemen, I have just been over to an old mates garage, after I got call last weekend, he has been building HotRods in 4 car garage for over 40 years, and given a 4week notice to quit, :( :( :( to say it was full to the rafters is an understatement, its a bit of a fire sale, a box of this or that £10.00, all engines £100, with history, gearboxes £75 I came away with some tools I dont need and a box of very Useful grommets, including some 600400W Grommets..for that reason alone,...a successful day, haven't told the wife about the other 5 boxes of bits I bought.......
