It annoys my OCD that you never seem to be able to get all 4 the same!
Mainly, I think because the spindle the handle fits to is 4 sided and the drive gear on the mechanism has 8 teeth (or thereabouts, haven't counted one lately) But the gear can be fitted in a different relationship to the quadrant and still work, I don't think they cared enough at the manufacurers to get them all aligned the same.
I do TRY to get them all similar but I prefer the 6 o'clock position, (or 7.30, 4.30 on the N/S) then if you do nudge it, it's usually in the closing direction.
