I've just bought a reconditioned servo for my 1850 from the club - all fine. Unexpectedly, I'm finding that the one way valve from the old servo is too big for the replacement servo? I've tried easing it in with fairy liquid, but no joy, the rubber seal in the servo seems to be too small to accept the valve. I understand that the same valve was fitted to all Dolomites - so it's bamboozling why this one is so determined not to fit...!! Has anyone encountered this before? I'd be grateful for any replies Thanks and best regards |

How are you trying to fit the valve? They are tight Put the seal into the servo first and make sure it's seated right into the lip. Then lube the inside of the seal with vaseline and push the valve into it. Failing that I have a few valves here, measure yours and I'll see if I have a smaller one - but I'm sure they are all the same. Matt. |

What Matt said above, though vaseline is not particularly good for rubber. Take the seal out of the servo and manipulate it a bit, a bit like you would a squash ball before playing and then try. They have to be tight, air tight infact...you should try getting one out!! |

If it does turn out impossible, I believe Rimmer bros sell a slightly smaller NRV with a consequently larger seal as a replacement for the NLA original (think it's from a Landy or summat) It's possible you have this seal and that's why the difficulty. I'm not normally a big fan of Rimmers, but in this case it may solve a specific problem. Steve |

If you are still struggling, I can send you an original used seal. |
