Just on with tilting over the Sprint next week for ease of access to get at things, plus weld/repair paint job underside. Question - was the colour underside the actual body colour ? - ie Magenta in my case or a black underseal (use the term loosely with BL) Thanks in advance |

The inside of the wheelarches may have been lightly painted under the dubious underseal and the rest of the underside may have a hint of colour in the way of overspray, but the general factory finish underneath was a brownish red primer. The whole car wasn't even undersealed from new, just a few of the more vulnerable bits. They left a proper job to the aftermarket, Ziebart was well thought of, it certainly preserved both of mine long enough for me to get them. HTH, Steve |

The closest match I could find to the unpainted but in my case an undersealed bottom to my Sprint was a red PA10 Vinyl etch primer. As a vinyl coating it has lasted extremely well on my 45 year old car. Check the topic HU 5089 Dolomite Sprint Restoration and scroll down to the posting dated 16 Sep 2020. You can see a photograph of the newly painted chassis rail and match that against the area around the handbrake mechanism which has been wiped down to remove the oil coming from the rear gearbox seal. It looks to be the same. Robert |

If you are going to use the car after spraying the colour you decide on, consider using this https://www.bilthamber.com/corrosion-pr ... s/dynax-ub on all the usual rust areas It really does work. They also do Dynax S50 for the cavities. Tony. |
