Captain_70 came over and helped me get the car started.
He checked for a spark and one was present. Then he drew petrol from the tank and filled the dashpot.
Running well now.

All running sweetly again, was just a case of hand pumping fuel up to the pump to get a reliable flow of petrol. It must have drained back to the tank/evaporated out of the float bowl and the mechanical pumps take an age to drag the fuel up from the tank when they're sucking air. Usually by the time fuel gets to the carb the battery is too weak to start the car!

Happy to help, was good to meet up with another local Dolly owner! Great wee car too, no rot, original paint and a sweet motor.
