I’ve recently bought a new pair of front stub axles for my Dolomite, SprintSpeeds Ford pattern pair to be precise. So I’ve had to remove the old ones, looked in the workshop manual and it says to loosen the nut in the back and press out. easy enough, had my local garage press them out, didn’t half fire out of the upright Now that I’m at this stage, does anyone know what torque that nut is meant to be at? The manual just says to tighten it, unless I’ve missed a section somewhere. Am I just meant to tighten till I can’t anymore? Anybody have any experience? Edit: Never mind, just reread the workshop manual and there’s a torque wrench setting page I entirely missed. Looks to be 80lbft of torque. I’ll leave this up for anyone else’s information

80? That's about two groans and a fart by my calculations. |
