Afternoon All

Has any one got any tips for removing the pressed in spigot on a auto 1500 engine flywheel/drive plate?.. need to remove as swapping it to a manual and is proving a bit stubborn...

Thanks

In advance..

I thought the manual had a different flywheel, plate and engine back plate to the auto so you need to swap the whole lot?

Hi

Yes all needs to be changed but first stage according to the workshop manual is to remove the spigot to allow the flywheel to be removed. It is proving a bit stubborn so wondered if there was a trick or tool to be used..

I have removed the spigot bush on the stag,by using a grease gun, pump the middle of the spigot bush with grease, the grease gets behind the spigot bush and pushes it out,( does get messy )

I always thought only manual cars had the spigot bush ?

If there is a spigot bush, do as Dave say's above but use a dowel the same size as hole and that will force it out. Yes can get messy 8)

I think it's just a tap fit in the back of the crank, to locate the nose of the torque converter. since both are bolted together, no bearing is needed.

Smother it in penetrating oil and try to turn it free with a mole grip or Stilson wrench, whilst locking the ring gear still.
