1980 Dolly 1500HL built May reg. July.

I've not owned the car long but have obtained a Heritage cert. that has the information RHD, Export, Chassis only.
The engine number finishes HE. Does this info indicate the car was originally intended for export?

Whilst it may have been built as an export model, the unusually small gap (considering build date was only 6 months before production finished) between build and registration makes it unlikely that it ever WAS exported. RHD and export gives a VERY limited number of possibilities, Oz, NZ, South Africa, Japan, that's about it. Ship it to any of those places and there's not enough time to get it there and back, even if it never got off the ship!

HE is the usual UK market suffix to engine numbers.

No telling why it's down as export spec, TBH i'd be surprised if ANY Dolomites were exported THAT late in production.

Just another little quirk of Triumphness.
