Hi all I want to remove the driveshaft flange nut on my gearbox (Sprint), how do other people do this? Officially it requires an RG421 tool but I guess these no longer exist, do most people fabricate something instead? I tried securing two bolts on to the gearbox flange and locking with a crowbar and attempting to undo the bolt with a socket and extension bar but I stopped as it didn't feel overly safe! Thanks for any advice |

Put it in gear and use a rattle gun, that's my preferred method! Steve |

Not possessing a rattle gun or any type of gun for that matter, I bolt a length of channel to the flange (as this is safer than the prybar wedged in place option) Ian |

I got a piece of 40x5 flat bar. Drilled two holes and notched out a bit to allow the socket to pass. If the axle is still in situ then let the bar rest against the floor. |
