Bought a dozen of these from ebay a couple of years ago, they were about £6 each IIRC. Constant flash rate whatever the load, engine running or not. Work just as well with LED bulbs or normal ones.

This is the only one I have left, can't remember the supplier, but all I did was look up electronic flasher unit, 2 pin.

Only slight snag is, they are a tad too big to fit the clip behind the dash!

I have one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152070987425 in my Dolly and it works really well, and, as Steve says, it gives a constant flash rate all the time, even when idling with headlights and wipers on. It doesn't fit the holder so it just dangles on the wires behind the dash, but it is so light weight there is no strain on the cables.

Does it make an audible ticking noise or is it silent?? I do like / need the "mechanical" ticking to remind me I have left the indicator on !!

What! Doesn't your self-cancelling work? To be serious, no my unit doesn't click but as the cancelling works I have never found it an issue.

Thanks for the responses.

Can the same item be used to replace the ‘hazard flasher unit’ and the ‘direction indicator flasher unit’ ?

In other words, should I buy 2 ?

These are the ones I switched to after I got bored of the "real" ones being so flakey.

Pricey but they are just plug-n-play for both indicators and hazards - and they make a relay type "click" as they go on and off.

:D :D
Yes the self cancel works, amazing I know, but it does. My Sprint is the only car I drive that has virtually no audible "tick" and several times I have realised the indicators are still flashing, usually after I have indicated and overtaken another car as the self cancel doesn't work with small movements of the wheel - so actually it happens quite a lot :D

Don't know what flasher is currently fitted but think I'll try one of these - needs an earth wire but that's not a problem.

I would have bought one of those if I had found it!

Mine clicks! Not terribly loud, but enough for my old, deaf ears to hear above the Rimmers Sports exhaust!

Steve

Oddly, i've not replaced the original hazard flash unit, which seems to work fine without the motor running AND with 2 extra 5w side repeater bulbs in the circuit too! but i'm guessing the electronic ones will do hazards too if need be!
