Hope all you guys are keeping well.

I used to own a Inca yellow Dolly Sprint 1980, reg VGK 15W. Loved that car and on and off I've wondered whatever became of it, whether it's still running or turned into Baked Bean tins.

Sadly, due to several house moves all my photos of the car have gone missing, except for one. However, a couple of days ago I checked .GOV 'Find a car'.

According to the info it was SORN in January 2020. I am curious to try and find out if it's rotting away in someone's barn, sold for parts or just scrapped.

If anyone can help in any shape I'll be forever grateful.

Cheers VR (Richard)

Oh wow! Thank you for that. The poster on the previous thread from 2015 said he owned it from the early 1990s. I owned it from the mid 1980s (87-89)

I've tried attaching the only photo I have but I'm struggling to get it small enough. It was taken on an old Kodak instant print camera.

Thank you very much.

Just to add, I purchased it from a young lady in Clapham, SW London (£1600 IIRC). I replaced the rear shocks with Spatz adjusting dampers. The only real issues I had was with the electronic ignition -- it used to blow the whole fuse box everytime. Otherwise it was a real gem of a car.

Just a little update. I looked at the WorthPoint advert and contacted that owner (all a bit surreal I know). After a fairly lengthy discussion he sold it to he thinks to a person in the west country somewhere but can't quite remember where. He drove it down and said the bottom end was a bit rumbly, due to what he thinks was the oil pump giving up... and it had a few rust bubbles; this was in 2015. It was last MOT'd in 2016 and SORN in Jan 2020. So I'm hoping it's still languishing in someones barn or garage somewhere.

I've also put a request out on my Twitter feed, so hoping someone will see it and respond.

Why is it special to me? Firstly, I only sold it because I lost my job in 1990 and couldn't afford to run the vehicle. Before that I owned a Dolly 1850 (1973), another Sprint in dark blue and after reluctantly selling the yellow Dolly I had a Stag.

Secondly, it was the last car I had before my father was diagnosed with Dementia. In the later stages of Dementia, every time I took him to a doctors appointment or tests at hospital, even the though the car had long gone, kept saying "are we going in the yellow Triumph?"

If anyone has any idea what I can do next or where to find it, I'll be grateful.

Thank you once again.
