Unfortunately I managed to clip a metal post that leapt out in front of me this morning. It is clear that I am going to need a new wing, front bumper and various accessories

Who would you recommend that I try to source these replacement parts? I see Rimmers do wings (which appear to be laminate) and bumpers (expensive).

Next question would be any recommendations in the SW Surrey area (I live in Camberley) for a bodywork shop.

To my surprise I am remarkably sanguine about my incompetence this morning. If nothing else it has proved that the original wing contained quite a bit of filler.

Sad to hear this. :(

I think Alun (xvivalve) will have a few used wings. I'm sure he'll be along in a moment.

Is it safe to assume you are not trusting this to an insurer to repair?

How urgently do you want to sort it? Pretty decent second hand steel wings do turn up round here from time to time.

Bumpers... ugh, what a pain! Personally I'm in the "Rimmers as a last resort" camp, I'd try ringing places like Fittchets first.

I heard a rumour that these people have a pair of genuine/nos wings available, not on their website though. May be worth a call
https://www.angclassiccarparts.co.uk/

There is also a NOS os front wing on ebay at the moment, and new bumpers turn up too.

Which side wing? I do have some useable s/h ones.

I surprised myself recently by finding I have no front bumpers around the place, least while not obviously placed!!

Rimmers wings are indeed laminate, the Club GRP ones are a better fit and a similar price, but collect only.

Our own James Shepherd in Fleet might fit the wing for you...or Derek Wadsworth is also in Surrey, Guildford/Woking area, I think...

N/S front wing. I have a photo of the damage but can't remember how to post it however the damaged wing appears to comprise less metal than it left the factory with!! and is I think beyond economical repair.

Happy to collect / pay for decent w/h wing.

Thank you for the help so far.

By way of an update, I have finally managed to visit a recommended panel beater (Stevie) who has looked at the car and is happy to repair the wing as it is basically in good condition.
He has queried the bumper however which got bent out of shape. The kink is not sufficient to have caused the chrome to flake but Stevie said that these were difficult to straighten and suggested that a new or non-bent front bumper would be a good idea.
Question - are these available or has anyone been through a successful bumper-straightening exercise?

Thanks as always.

I got a front bumper from Fitchetts last year, not sure if they have any left though, worth giving them a call?
Are you looking for pristine or usable?

I don't think i need a pristine condition one.
I have seen front bumpers on ebay. Up to £100 for used and nearly £400 for pristine (re-chromed).
This would indicate the cost of re-chroming is perhaps £250 - £300...it is not a cheap exercise.
