While I have the inlet manifold off I thought it would be a good time to address the oil leak from the fuel pump area.
When I removed the pump it appears that the leak might originate from gasket or it could be coming from the small weep hole at the back of the pump. It was a bit caked in oil so hard to tell. Is it possible that oil could come from the weep hole and is this an indication the pump is on its way out.
Also is the pump the same as the TR7 pump. There is an OME TR7 pump for sale here in the US that I am tempted to buy. For items that have rubber diaphragms, like fuel pumps, do the diaphragms degrade with age even if not used. In which case is it better to buy a new one rather then an old original.
Thanks
