What a pig of a job it is installing that shiny plastic finishing strip that fits inside the rubber windscreen seal. I got it nice and slippery with the dish soap. But it wouldn't go in because Rimmers supply the stuff all tightly coiled up.

Out came the girlfriend's high performance hair dryer. This straightened it somewhat and then I was able to work it in the slot. My thumbs are swollen from pressing so hard.

I wish the twisted old fruit who had the NGE 6V restored would have insisted the body shop finish the job when they put the car back together.

the easiest way is to put into a bucket of hot water
it's usualy fitted with the screen , rubber & finishing strip other than that there is a tool to fit it looks like a bent pice of wire with a roller and handle

I knew somebody here would have a shortcut...
But it looks like such a simple thing, and I was too embarassed to ask.
I hope to regain the use of my thumbs in about a week.
