o' well got it wrong again .

they had 38mm fits inside and 44mm fits inside, went for the 38.

some thing told me i got it wrong as it was a bit small for the cardboard bracket.

only 2.75 a metre so its not the end of the world..

yep, outside.

i got orange with standard SU's and the standard air box, but no pipes.

orange used to have a funny problem that once warm the tickover went all lumpy. neve rdid figure out what the problem was, but may have been down to under bonnet temp affecting air intake temp/mixture etc etc, so i reckon they're worth having, even if its only to eliminate that potential issue as a cause of that potential problem.

binned the air box and the SU's anyway.

(well, saved the SU's for project 'sprintation')

I have a reliable source tell me that not all Sprints came with these pipes.

And lets face it who else here dealt with lots of these cars when they were new... :P

I have fitted mine with tubes from the back of the cooker.

Found on an electric cooker they vent heat and steam up the back and away.

Pefect fit and they're bendy and a nice chrome "bling" effect.

I am only the second owner of VA124DL and acquired it in totally original condition. It hasthe afforemetioned pipes. All my other Sprints have had them right upto 1978.

I suspect that "the reliable advice" quoted above is not so reliable. Also VA1 (Coventry) and the last (Gaydon) have them. Therefore I believe all Sprints had them.

we are talking bl here if they could build a car with one drum on the front
and a disc set up on the other side then anything is posible saw ones whithout and ones with most earlys were with till about 76/77 from then on it was luck i supose you have to rember these were left in the rather large fields so i dare say that they came out of stock fairly randomly if you need authentic then fit them later ones didn't iirc have them anyway
