Before the head gasket was done on my car and before the first MOT the carbs were leaned out a fiar bit. To get it for 11% CO emmisions down to 2.79% CO HC was 158PPM.

And it went much better than it does now it's had its head gasket sorted and the emmisions test was 4.38% CO and 243ppm HC

What does that tell you???

You've bolted the carb mounts on a bit harder, reducing the air leak you had? :?

head to manifold joint?

In any case, the increase suggests rich running. Maybe lean it out a little?

your previous history of not understanding the importance of ignition timing..:-)...did you have to remove and replace the distributor?

You can fit a 5 speeder to a dolly cos quicksprint did it...to a Sprint.

but it wont be easy....you have to mod the bell housing to stop the clutch slave fighting the rack for space...

Reckon you lost a bit of c/r and some helpful steam injection with the new gasket then...
